Hello, my name is Nina...My qualificationsNLP Practitioner
EAP Practitioner (UP) B. App. Soc. Sci. (SACAP) B.A. Hons in Psychological Counselling (UNISA) Dip. Couns. & Comm. (SACAP) FAMAC Divorce & Family Mediator |
I am a remarried mother of two grown boys. Originally from Cape Town, I now live in the desert in a remote diamond mining town in Namibia. When I am not coaching or furthering my studies, I am exploring the nearby dunes with my rottweiler Baloo. During weekends and holidays my husband and I can be found riding the dirt roads on our motorbikes, camping in the desert, or tracking down animals and sunsets for beautiful photos. I know I have to start sharing these photos to an Instagram account soon... We are also both currently studying towards our field guide qualifications as we spend so much time in the bush. I am also involved in various community based conservation programs in northern Namibia.
I come from a mental health background of counselling and mediation. My work experience includes facilitating support groups, running an EAP business, mediating in private practice, mediating at Cape Town Children's Court and in NPOs, and counselling/coaching in private practise. I have facilitated multiple workshops for both the corporate and non profit sector. I am a facilitator trainer on Gender Based Violence. My favourite workshop to facilitate has always been on conflict resolution skills, with a strong focus on intimate partner and family conflict. I am a published author. My first book was on mental health and was published in 2010. My second book is hovering somewhere out there. By overcoming what at the time felt like unsurmountable conflict and stress in my life, I found that that place of conflict was actually my greatest learning experience and place of growth. Today I have come to view all conflict as an opportunity for learning and growth, and assist my clients to do the same. |
