Family Matters Mediation Divorce Package

Full mediated divorce, from first session to final agreements

Our complete package is designed for uncontested and straightforward divorces where both parties are willing to engage in good faith. It covers everything from your first mediation session through to all required agreements, at a single, transparent flat fee.

Family Matters Mediation assists the parties in recording the agreements they reach, drawing on specialised expertise in family law mediation. We are happy to provide and work from approved templates where appropriate, though no agreement is ever finalised without full client input and understanding.

If a resolution is not reached, no additional fees will be charged for agreements not concluded. If more sessions are needed beyond the four included, further mediation can be scheduled, or we will discuss the most appropriate next steps together.

Clients may cancel in line with our cancellation policy as set out in the Client Registration Form.

Important: The divorce decree (order of court) is a judicial function and is not included in this package. It is granted by the presiding magistrate or judge. Family Matters Mediation assists the parties in reaching and recording their agreement; the formal divorce order is issued by the court.

Cancellation & Settlement Policy: Where a matter is settled, cancelled, or withdrawn more than 10 days before a scheduled session, a cancellation fee of 50% applies. Where cancellation occurs fewer than 10 days before a scheduled session, a 75% cancellation fee applies. Full terms are set out in the Client Registration Form.

Individual Services & Documents

Family Matters Mediation assists the parties in preparing these agreements, drawing on specialised family law mediation expertise. All agreements are reached through client participation and can be made orders of court where the law provides for this.

Primary residence, contact, schooling, medical decisions and more. Children's Act compliant.

Child and spousal maintenance: quantum, duration, escalation and variation.

Full settlement of assets, liabilities and post-divorce obligations, reached through mediation with full client participation.

Agreement in terms of Section 22 of the Divorce Act.

All prices are subject to annual review, not exceeding 15% per annum. Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.

When you contact Family Matters Mediation, we will briefly discuss your situation, explain how mediation works in your specific context, and if both parties are willing, send you a Client Registration Form before your first session.

We are happy to answer questions about whether mediation is suitable for your matter, what agreements you may need, or how the process works under South African law.
